There are no historical records of anything of the sort occurring during the reign of Rhamses, either from Egyptian or any other source. It was all rubbish, but the story continues to be propagated, because it's in the Bible. Sort of like the story of Herod's killing of the innocents, or of this supposed carpenter from Galilee, of whom the Romans, at least before Josephus, apparently had never heard. At the risk of cliche`, yes, the truth is out there. Unfortunately, if the greater populace doesn't find it 'till "later" it may very well be too late - these creatures old it to be their Manifest Destiny to control the world, and if not, destroy it.
