On February 4, 1986, President Ronald Reagan delivered a State of the Union Address hailing an alleged US recovery from the deep recession of the 1980s, after 11.5 million US workers lost jobs in plant shutdowns from 1979 to 1984

You just keep telling yourself that, rube, it’s all just a hoax, while water flowing into the Arctic Ocean from the North Atlantic is the warmest it’s been in at least 2,000 years.

Waters of the Fram Strait, which runs between Greenland and the Arctic archipelago of Svalbard, have warmed about 3.5 degrees Fahrenheit over the past 100 years, according to the study published in the Jan. 28 issue of the journal Science. Temperatures are about 2.5 degrees higher than during the Medieval Warm Period, a time of elevated warmth from A.D. 900 to 1300.

“Such a warming of the Atlantic water in the Fram Strait is significantly different from all climate variations in the last 2,000 years,” study lead author Robert Spielhagen of the Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Literature in Mainz, Germany, said in announcing the findings.

While income inequality in Egypt is probably the root of the current unrest there, income inequality is actually worse in the United States right now.

A second federal judge ruled on Monday that it was unconstitutional for Congress to enact a law that requires all Americans to obtain commercial insurance – an idea Greg Walden and the Tea Bagger Republicans came up with – evening the score at two-to-two in the lower courts as the conflicting opinions begin their path to the Supreme Court. White House not impressed.

Greg Walden and The Tea Baggers put forth twenty-eight (28) bills to repeal health care in eleven (11) days, but haven’t done anything to create jobs.

They have come up with a new plan to avoid raising the debt ceiling… pay the Chinese government — and other foreign lenders — first and then withhold payments to Social Security beneficiaries and other obligations to US citizens.

[W]e already have a law that prohibits U.S. officials from imposing religious rules on Americans through legislation or court orders.

Happy Birthday, “son”, where-ever you may be.

‘Nuff said? (oh, yeah, for you dumb-fucks – a “bitch” is a female dog)

Nobody said anything about “Nazis”…

Fascism is an extreme right-wing ideology which embraces nationalism as the transcendent value of society. The rise of Fascism relies upon the manipulation of populist sentiment in times of national crisis. Based on fundamentalist revolutionary ideas, Fascism defines itself through intense xenophobia, militarism, and supremacist ideals. Although secular in nature, Fascism’s emphasis on mythic beliefs such as divine mandates, racial imperatives, and violent struggle places highly concentrated power in the hands of a self-selected elite from whom all authority flows to lesser elites, such as law enforcement, intellectuals, and the media.

I’d have to agree with Reichwing “Christian” Authoritarian Dominionist Senator Jim DeMint (Republic Fascist) of South Carolina “… we’re about where Germany was before World War II…”, and have been for at least the past eight and a half years. Afterall, the playbook is seventy-five years old.
