NYT Public Editor:

I’m looking for reader input on whether and when New York Times news reporters should challenge “facts” that are asserted by newsmakers they write about.

The point has been made too many times to count, but when the New York Times prints something, most readers assume that they have, in fact, made an effort to determine the truth of what they have printed.

I know it’s wishful thinking, but I would prefer that “journalists” tell the truth.

Yes, John Costa and The Bullshiten, I am talking to you. And if you think the New York Times is “liberal”, you don’t read it. It’s only as “liberal” as its advertisers.
