The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued an *Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for rain and melting snow in…
Western Deschutes County in central Oregon…
this includes the city of Redmond…
Western Jefferson County in central Oregon…
Sherman County in north central Oregon…
Wasco County in north central Oregon…
until 500 PM PST Thursday
*Urban and Small Stream flooding is possible across central and north central Oregon tonight through Thursday as another storm system moves through the region. This system is accompanied by warmer air with 0.50 to 1.5 inches of rain possible during the overnight and through the day on Thursday.
The rain will combine with snowmelt to cause areas of minor flooding… especially in areas of poor drainage. Storm drains and culverts may become overwhelmed with slush. Small streams and creeks may also see high water.
Precautionary/preparedness actions…
Turn around, don’t drown. Never drive cars, trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded areas. The water may be too deep to allow for safe passage. As little as one foot of water on the Road can move most vehicles off the Road.
