What’s the alternative, children? Who is running against Walden? Do you know? How would you know? A comprehensive search of the Deschutes Democrats web-site returns one, just one, very old reference to his challenger. A search of the Oregon Democrats web-site returns nothing. So too the national Democrat sites.
So too googling the net. Which returns some rather interesting information (you know, that stuff you don’t find in The Source and the Bend Bullshiten): Greg Walden, Oregon’s own Willard Romney, a multi-millionaire trustfunder punk who has never done a day’s real work in his life, has raised over a million dollars in campaign contributions to his re-election this cycle. His challenger, Joyce Segers? Nothing. Zero, zip, nada, not a bloody red dime. I spoke with a Deschutes Democrats spokesperson yesterday and came away with the distinct impression that the Democrats don’t support Ms Segers candidacy, which is rather obvious in the dearth of financial support or information about her on their web-sites.
The Democrats not only don’t have anyone to run against Walden but appear to have no interest in running someone against Walden. So put down the dogwhistles, boys and girls, quit blowing sunshine up the public’s collective ass.
