As you read this Israeli Navy ships are shelling Gazan homes, Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai has stated that “The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages”, and in today’s Jerusalem Post:
We need to flatten entire neighborhoods in Gaza. Flatten all of Gaza. The Americans didn’t stop with Hiroshima – the Japanese weren’t surrendering fast enough, so they hit Nagasaki, too.
There should be no electricity in Gaza, no gasoline or moving vehicles, nothing.
The Palestinians are a captive population, living in what amounts to a concentration camp, a death camp. Makes The Rez look like paradise. The Jews are shooting fish in a barrel with very little water. With your tax dollars.

Classic case of shooting ourselves in the foot – the stuxnet virus was designed and released into the wild by the Jews and the CIA to attack Iran’s critical energy infrastructure but once in the wild attacked all foreign energy infrastructure leaving Fukushima vulnerable enough that when the physical structure failed the virus shut down the system which then released the as yet unreported massive radioactive fallout now bombarding Cascadia. The Jews are not America’s friends.
Forty-five years ago today the USS Liberty, a US Navy communications vessel stationed off the coast of Palistine, was strafed and torpedoed by unmarked Israeli ships and fighter jets (that we ‘sold’ them) with the loss of thirty-four American sailors and over one hundred wounded. Fucking Jews even strafed the lifeboats.
Since the 1979 Iranian revolution and the downfall of the US Puppet Ruler the Shah, Iran has been an Islamic state. In that interval of time, 1979 to the present, Iran has not invaded anyone. Not once. People of all religions live in peace in Iran, even Jews, who find life so comfortable in Iran they refused an offer by the government of Israel to emigrate!
In the same period of time, Israel, a self-declared Jewish state, attacked Iraq in 1981, bombing the power station at Osirik, claiming it was a clandestine weapons factory. Subsequent examination of the ruins following the 2003 invasion proved Israel had lied.
In 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon. This led to the Massacres at Sabra and Shatilla.
In February 2003 Israel staged incursions into Gaza and Nablus.
In September 2007 Israel bombed Syria, again insisting they were destroying a clandestine weapons laboratory. Again there was no evidence to support Israel’s claims.
In 2006, Israel attacked Lebanon, killing 1200, mostly civilians, several UN observers, and littering the landscape with land mines on their way out.
In February 2008 Israel again raided Gaza, killing over 100. HAMAS agreed to a cease fire and kept it for 6 months until November 4, when Israel again attacked without warning, killing 6 HAMAS members, and launching operation CAST LEAD. 1300 Gazans, mostly civilians, were killed. Israel lost 13 soldiers. Violations of international law included the use of White Phosphorus incendiary bombs against civilians and non-military targets. The United Nations investigated, but Israel refused to cooperate.
In May 2010, Israel attacked an international aid flotilla bringing food and medical supplies to Gaza in international waters. 9 people were murdered including an American from New York.

Walter Pincus: Britain is not the only country modernizing [its nuclear weapons]. The United States has a multi-billion-dollar program to upgrade its three major nuclear warheads and a more costly effort to build new land, sea and air strategic delivery systems. France is modernizing its nuclear bombs and missiles as well as its strategic submarine, though it is reducing numbers. Russia and China are modernizing, too. It is ironic that these five countries meeting in Baghdad to dissuade Iran from moving toward a nuclear weapon are all modernizing their stockpiles.
Last week, the Republican-led house Armed Services Committee proposed a new Pentagon budget. Tucked away inside it was a provision that would prohibit the Department of Defense from buying any alternative fuels that cost more than conventional fossil fuels.
Slate’s Fred Kaplan laments that this provision would kill the $12 million “green strike group” program the Navy is running, which would field a strike group running entirely on biofuels (and a nuclear-powered carrier) for a naval exercise in June. The Navy hopes to have an entire “great green fleet” in the water by 2016.
But the language is far broader than that. It would effectively prohibit military field-testing of any non-fossil fuel. After all, if alternatives were already cheaper than fossil fuels, they wouldn’t be alternatives. The Air Force couldn’t experiment with fuel blends for its jets. The Army couldn’t fuel its “green warrior convoy.” This provision would explicitly ban the military from being an instrument of energy innovation. - Grist /2 Cookie Jill

Over at No More Mister Nice Tom Hilton leads a discussion about Calvinistic predestination – the idea that God decided ages ago who would be saved (the Elect) and who wouldn’t, and that’s how it is and nothing anyone can do can possibly change that.
“The most widely played sound bite from Romney’s tepid ‘repudiation’ of the proposed all-Wright-all-the-time anti-Obama ad campaign is the part where he said “I stand by what I said, whatever it was”. And with good reason: that + Etch-a-Sketch = ad that writes itself.
But there was another bit that leapt out at me, beginning at around 2:06 (see video at link):
The purpose of the President’s ads is not to describe success and failure but somehow to suggest that I’m…not a good person, or not a good guy. And I think the American people will know better than that, if they don’t already. [emphasis added]
Sound vaguely familiar? Wondering where you might have heard something like that before? I’ll tell you: you heard it from everyone who ever thought he/she was being unjustly accused of doing or saying something racist. Or sexist. Or homophobic.
It’s a classic dodge, shifting focus from your conduct (which others can observe and evaluate) to your character (which only you know, and what you know is that it’s good). The thought process works like this: I’m not a bad person; therefore, I’m not a racist; therefore, what I said can’t have been racist. Or in Romney’s variation, I’m a good guy; therefore, I’m not a heartless bastard; therefore, I can’t have hurt those people. The point being that one’s inherent nature far outweighs anything one actually does.” …
The irony is that in the authoritarian, dominionist, evangelical fundamentalist worldview there is no Inherent Goodness … all are born in sin, must accept, must embrace, the christian “lord” and symbolically “wash away the sin” through baptism to be “saved”. Having escaped that environment nearly fifty years ago … I don’t think Calvinistic predestination weighs as heavily today as when denominations were far more … ahhh … “defined”, were far less homogeneous. Less generic.
Speaking of distractions … I’ve long wondered what the “Chosen People” think of the “Elect’s core view of them. In the authoritarian, dominionist, evangelical fundamentalist worldview before their precious lord and master will float down out of the heavens on a white horse with a thousand sidekicks to carry them (the Elect) all away to paradise two/thirds of “Israel” must be destroyed, two/thirds of the “Jewish” population must die. These people don’t “Love” Israel, they want it destroyed.
Magic underpants, polygamy, and post/humous baptisms of a slave population for their “heavenly planet” read from a book of golden pages (in a hat) just isn’t all that weird. Of concern, yes … weird, no.
